Quick start

This chapter provides detailed instructions for preparing the user environment to effectively utilize AosEdge as a container deployment solution for connected devices. To simplify the preparation process, a virtual machine with a Linux-based operating system will be used instead of physical hardware. The approximate time for the setup is 1 hour.

Next system resources will be used by the AosCore virtual machines

  • 2GB of storage
  • 8GB of RAM

The following steps outline the necessary procedures:

Step 1: Installation of Dependencies on the User Host PC

Before proceeding with AosEdge setup, it is essential to install the required dependencies on the user's host PC. These dependencies are vital for seamless integration and optimal performance. Also, you will install Aos SDK on your machine.

Step 2: User Registration as OEM and Service Provider on AosCloud

To access and utilize the resources provided by AosCloud, user registration is required. This step involves registering as an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and Service Provider on the AosCloud platform.

To ensure a secure connection between AosEdge and AosCloud, the installation of the AosEdge certificate is necessary. This certificate establishes an encrypted and authenticated link, enhancing the overall security of the deployment.

Step 3: Device Provisioning

Proper device provisioning is crucial for seamless integration with AosEdge. This step involves configuring and preparing the connected devices for optimal container deployment.

Step 4: Preparation of the First "Hello World" Service and Container Deployment

In this step, users are guided through the process of preparing the initial "Hello World" service. This service will be deployed as a container onto the connected device, showcasing the core functionality of AosEdge.

By following these steps diligently, users can successfully prepare their user environment and leverage the capabilities of AosEdge for efficient container deployment onto connected devices.

Step 5: Creating unit-set

In this step, you will be guided through the process off creating and managing unit-set to simplify service deployment.

Step 6: Creating subject and installing service

Here you will connect Service and Unit with Subject to Deploy it on the Unit.
